A great trip to Kathmandu, Nepal.
Posted By : Allisdair Craig , On Thursday, 18 May 2017 email e-Mail :

I've just returned from Nepal after 4 great days of MTBing with Shishir.

I highly recommend this team - great tours, flexible arrangements and an overall great experience.

Shashir was an excellent guide - a skilled bike rider who knows the region and wildlife well. It was a pleasure to ride with him.

Bista is also a great guy to deal with. His communication skills are excellent and he arranged everything before I arrived in country. Most importantly, he responded quickly to my email questions and everything that he arranged was perfect.

I highly recommend this team.

Round Annapurna Biking November 2016
Posted By : Johan, Paul, Luc, Guy , On Monday, 02 January 2017 email e-Mail :

With the four of us (4 Belgian 'midlifers'), we had the idea a few years ago, to do a mountainbike trip in every continent: 2016 was to become the 'Asian' year

After some google sessions and YouTube screenings, we contacted Bista and his Everest Mountain Bike team. What a super choice we made!

EMB designed a customised 8 days trip in the Annapurna with the start in the valley, then 4 days of climbing through jungle, rice fields, authentic villages with locals who welcome you with a friendly Namaste!, reaching the highest point of the trip when crossing the Torong La pass at 5416 m altitude and the thrilling downhill - a dream for every mountainbiker.

From the day we arrived in Katmandu airport until our return 14 days later, Shishir, our guide, and the porters Prakash and Manye were at our side and helped us through all highs and lows.

On the first day, we had to put our bikes back together which we dismantled for the flight from Europe - Shishir appeared to be not only a knowledgeable Everest guide, but also a bike mechanic!!

Once we left the chaotic capital with our private bus, the adventure started already with some fantastic sceneries and views on the white peaks ahead of us. Every question we fired to Shishir, and we had a lot, he patiently answered with deep knowledge and humour.

We also very much appreciated the flexibility of the team, as we decided half way the trip to build in a resting day in Manang (3200 m) to prevent altitude sickness. The next day, we continued our adventure, all safe and sound.

Once back in the valley, and after a fun night with superb food and a few (too much) drinks :-), again Shishir guided us along the Katmanu highlights on our last day.

So, thanks again Bista, Shishir, Prakash and Maney for the mind blowing journey you made come to life. You guys manage a professional organisation!!

Annapurna Mountain Biking 2015
Posted By : Warwick , On Wednesday, 02 December 2015 email e-Mail :

We have just returned home from our Nepal mountain bike trip in the Annapurna’s. We want to thank the Everest Mountain Biking team of Bista and Shishir for their great service in organising and supporting us on this fascinating trip.

Our guide, and mobile banker, Shishir, was with us all the way ensuring all went smoothly and safely.  Shishir was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and patient, in responding to our non-stop questions and observations about random scenery along the way.  Shishir’s knowledge and experience added immeasurably to the value of our experience, we learnt so much more than we would have otherwise done if we had attempted this trip on our own.

Due to the less than ideal conditions in Nepal, particularly the severe fuel shortages, there were several occasions where we were forced to modify the itinerary. Shishir looked after all these arrangements and negotiations with style and we completed the tour with very little problem.

The scenery was just amazing and we looked forward to each day with great anticipation. If we had to pick out a couple of highlights they would be the ascent to Muktinath, which was a great physical achievement for us, and the decent down the Mustang Gorge from Marpha to Tatopani. Here we experienced many different landscapes from the familiar treeless mountains, alpine pine woodlands to semi -tropical forests.

We felt welcome at all the guest houses on the way and despite the fuel shortages hot meals arrived at the designated time. The food was always delicious and the serving sizes generous, although we could have skipped the last couple of rum cocktails at Muktinath.

Thank you again Shishir and Bista for a wonderful adventure, we hope it won’t be a once in a lifetime experience.

Kathmandu overnight tour-2011
Posted By : Claus and Kristoffer , On Sunday, 30 August 2015 email e-Mail :

Me and my friend Claus had I really good time with Shishir - the best bike tour leader in Nepal.

We went on a 2 day bike tour from Kathmandu to Dhulikel where we spend the night on the way in Nagarkot.

The tour was brilliant where we left the chaotic capital to bike in the Kathmandu Valley and the surroundings mountains.

There were a lot of ups and downs, so remember plenty of water J

This was a good way to see the countryside around Kathmandu and we was happy to go with EMB who was very professional and had the best new bikes in Kathmandu.

Best regards,

Biking the Annapurna 2013

Comment: After viewing a Youtube video - Himalayan High", the four of us Australians decided this was somewhere where we would like to ride our mountain bikes. We soon had a bit of a plan and with the assistance of Everest Mountain Biking (EMB) who tailored an itinerary especially for us, we were booked and on our way to Nepal. EMB were fantastic hosts, right from the minute they met as at Kathmandu airport through our 14 days in Nepal and finally ensuring we were delivered safely back to the airport.

The riding and routes that EMB took us on were just awesome. They were a good mix of single tracks, fire type access trails and single lane roads. Right from our initial 1 day downhill from up in Shivpuri National Park back to Kathmandu we knew this was going to be an enjoyable ride. The three day loop out from Kathmandu and through Nagarkot, Bathali, Namobuddah and back to Kathmandu had some tough uphill sections which was the sort of riding we were looking for. Riding through some of the villages on the way was a real highlight and the local knowledge of our guide Shishir made the trip that much better. We soon established a  riding routine which consisted of heading off after breakfast, riding for an hour or so and then stoping for some Nepali tea in a roadside tea house. Then fully charged it would be another hour or two on the bike till lunch at another roadside cafe and then onto our overnight stop. All the accommodation was fantastic and the food was incredible.

Even when things didn’t go to plan (due to cancelled flights due to weather), EMB quickly made alternate arrangements. The 10 hour jeep ride was the alternative to the 20 minute flight from Pokhara to Jomson, and whilst we were all feeling fairly fatigued and cramped after the drive at least it got us to where we were going – “The Mountains”, instead of waiting around in Pokhara. Our ride from Jomsom up the valley to Kagbeni and then UP a 1000m to Muktinath was spectacular. Nothing prepares you for the awesome beauty that is the Mountains in this area of Nepal. After reaching and exploring the temple Muktinath, we all had a personal mission to keep riding up to 4000m. Heading further up the valley it was becoming a bit of a struggle for us Australian lowlanders but we pushed on and made it to our goal. The riding back down to our accommodation was another pleasurable highlight.

Having reached our goal but having lost a day due to travel in the jeep, we had to alter our plan and cover 103km i two days instead of three). Shishir quickly changed the arrangements and logistics and it was all fairly flawless. The riding was of course unbelievable as we rode down from the mountains, via some singletrack and down through the river bed and on through the deepest valley in the world. Making our way to Beni, we would detour through all the villages, and we started to get a feeling of what Nepal is all about. Life is a lot less complicated and the people are warm, welcoming and generous.

Overall we had a fantastic time and we could not have asked for any better hosts than EMB. Shishir our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and a pleasure to ride with. Bista, back in the office in Kathmandu had made sure that all went to plan. Thanks for a great time in Nepal and your hospitality.

Dear Bista,

Namaste! Thank you for your email, it's good to hear from you. Once again I'd just like to tell you what an amazing time we had in Nepal, and how much we enjoyed our Trek to Poon Hill! It was great to have an experienced tour company book the trip for us, as it meant everything was arranged for us with no hassle. Our tour guide, Janak, was very friendly and knowledgeable, and we really appreciated his experience throughout the trek. We are already thinking about our next trip to Nepal, and would certainly use Everest Mountain Bike again in the future. I would recommend your company to any friends and family wanting to book a trip to Nepal, it really is a wonderful place to visit.

Thank you once again Bista for all of your help before and during the trip, we hope to be seeing you again!

Many Thanks,

"I'm Giovanni from Italy.

I experienced the Annapurna mountain bike tour in April / May 2014.

Landscapes are fantastic. Ascents aren't impossible but pedalable for person with a medium-high training. Downhill is incredible

In any case is an unforgettable experience that I counsel to everybody who loves biking,  nature and tranquility (mobile phone and internet aren't available for several days and this is fantastic!!!!).

I recommend Everest  Everest Mountain Bike because this organization is perfect .

Contact directly the manager Bista at for your personal necessities. He and all his guides are real professionals."

Round Annapurna Circuit
Posted By : Ali Webb , On Monday, 07 July 2014 email e-Mail :

I cycled the 15-day Round Annapurna circuit with Everest Mountain Bike in April 2014. EMB were recommended to me by a friend, and from the moment I emailed Bista expressing an interest in doing a tour, I was impressed by the professionalism, friendliness and attention to detail. Before I left for Nepal, I emailed Bista several times a week with various questions - he was always quick to reply, answering my queries directly. When I arrived in Kathmandu, I was greeted by Bista and shown to my hotel (good quality, comfortable) before I met my guide, Shishir. All the time I was made to feel very welcome. I was taken out for dinner by Shishir - conversation flowed... all members of the EMB team are fantastic English speakers. The following morning, we departed on the trip. The following 11 days cycling were the most amazing days of my life - the scenery, food, people - the whole experience was breathtaking! Shishir was friendly, informative, caring and by the end of the trip we were good friends. If I ever I had a problem, he helped me out, and he knew the route like the back of his hand. The day we finished in Pokhara, Shishir travelled straight back to Kathmandu ready to lead off another tour round Annapurna - his passion and professionalism is inspiring. When back in Kathmandu, Bista kindly toured me around the various tourist destinations, and was always on the end of the phone should I need anything.

I am a keen film-maker and photographer, and throughout the whole trip I was filming. EMB were really accommodating, especially Shishir who had to put up with my regular stopping to talk to the camera, set-up shots and take pictures!

All in all, the best trip of my life thus far - I thank Bista and Shishir for everything, and I can recommend EMB highly enough for anyone wanting to experience adventure in Nepal.

5 Days Poonhill Ghandruk Trek-  March 2011

A truly great experience from start to finish. Everest Bike came highly recommended to us by colleagues who have been using the same company for five or six previous visits to Nepal. During the planning of the trip, all correspondents by email were dealt with quickly and efficiently and we were able to tailor our holiday to include extra activities suggested by Everest Bike, such as white water rafting and paragliding  or leave out parts we felt unsuitable to our needs. Without the guides from Everest Bike Company the trip would not have been the amazing experience that it was. Their years of experience trekking in the Everest (replace with Annapurna, if we really weren’t scaling Everest) region meant we were safe at all times, kept well informed of cultural issues and had the good fortune of staying in the best tea houses and eating at their recommended restaurants – important parts on a trip where you might be missing some home comforts
